Fly Fishing Tips and Resources
Fly Fishing is one of those individual
sports that offers a great deal of solitude and closeness with
nature. At the same time, it offers great excitement as you pit your
fishing skills against a fish that is desperately fighting for its freedom. Not
to mention the satisfaction if you come out the winner!
If you fly fish, you know the excitement of
a well-placed drift as it bounces through a riffle, then enters the head
of the pool where it disappears when you get a strike. As you lift
the tip of the rod, a beautiful large, rainbow or steelhead trout comes out of
the water, and hopefully heads
upstream, so it'll wear out a little faster.
Of course, there's always the fish that runs downstream, uses the current to help pull
the hook, maybe even break your line.
Soon your socks are wet as
water splashes into your waders. If you slip, or step into a hole, your trousers get wet too, but it's
worth the effort to to land one of these magnificent fish.
Fly Fishing can be a great activity for small groups
of close friends, or family - and in that setting it can offer friendly
competition and strengthen relationships.
